The Second Friday of the Month

by Geoff Bamber

Every month, on the second Friday of the month, Daniel Fielding enjoys a romantic tryst with his neighbour Angela, a psychologist specialising in “The functionality of human relationships”. Daniels relationship with Angela is purely functional. However, on this particular Friday Daniel finds that not only must he make time for Angela but also accommodate the pressing demands of Sophie, his literary agent, who is keen to develop his writing career and Natalie, an old friend who has just left her philandering husband and needs a shoulder to cry on. As if that isn’t enough to contend with Daniel finds he has even more visitors to the flat. Ronald, Natalies wayward husband looking for similar moral support, the conscientious building handyman, Norman, who insists on inviting himself into the flat throughout the evening and Jasmine, the call girl Ronald has hired to keep him company. Will Daniels second Friday of the month plans come to fruition?
