The Bards was set up as an amateur dramatics society in 1989 by Mrs. Mary Fenner. Their first production, performed in the school hall, was "The World War II Band Wagon", a musical review of classic songs and sketches from the WWII era. Mary has now moved away from the area but, since those early days, the group has gone from strength to strength.

We now perform three shows a year at the Binfield Memorial Hall, typically, a pantomime in February, a play or farce in June and a musical in October. We will often get involved with local community events and try, whenever possible, to make a real contribution to the village. We are very much a social group and enjoy our weekly get-togethers at The Binfield Club. It's all about enjoying ourselves and, although we always strive for professionalism, we remember that we do this as a hobby and try not to take ourselves too seriously.
